Business Intelligence Manager (14840)

The Role:

We are looking for a talented Business Intelligence Manager to lead a team of BI developers whose primary function is to provide data analytics, actionable insights and planning support for key areas of the business.  You will be working closely with key stakeholders on exciting new projects to help achieve H&B 2025 strategic vision to become a global omni channel leader and health and wellness provider. 


The BI Manager role is a leadership role for a team comprising of Senior, Mid-Senior, and Junior BI developers. You will have the chance to establish a high-performance BI team leveraging your strong experience as people manager and team builder. Within your team there will be a high degree of autonomy coupled with an expectation of reliable sustained delivery of world class reporting solutions. 

You will work alongside other teams (Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, Data Science and Product) and be part of the BI Centre of Excellence.  

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing and leading BI projects & dashboarding solutions offering actionable insights for rapid data-informed decision-making,  
  • Working closely with the data warehouse team to enable your team with provisioning required data  
  • Planning and working closely with Product Managers, Data warehouse Manager, and business stakeholders to deliver state of the art dashboards to help business users in their daily decision-making process .  
  • Working with large and complex data. You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large data volumes. 
  • Have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions, and to build datasets that answer those questions.  
  • Design, implement, and operate stable, scalable, low cost solutions   
  • Be passionate about bringing large datasets together to answer business questions and drive change. 
  • Manage a team of talented BI developers 
  • Plan with the data warehouse manager to provision required data assets  
  • In charge of the BI distributed data and visualisation platforms and create insights at every level to support performance improvements. 
  • Ensure efficient use and management of published content 
  • Play a leadership role in improving data literacy 
The Person:

Key Skills required 

  • 3+ years experience in management of teams of BI developers 
  • Strong understanding and experience in agile project management methodologies 
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship 
  • Strong Business Intelligence experience with good working knowledge of dimensional modelling and good understanding of Kimball methodology 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with previous team leadership, mentoring and people management experience 
  • Strong ownership, stakeholder management and prioritisation skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills with commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities & threats. 
  • Strong ability to gather, transform, and analyse data from various business processes to deliver cross topics BI solutions  
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (Redshift, Athena) 
  • Good experience working with Gitlab for version control and production 
  • Advanced dashboarding skills with Tableau / Sisense/ Power BI / Metabase or similar 
  • Able to balance the need for accuracy and efficiency 
  • Able to distil & relay complex, technical information to a non-technical audience
