Business Project Manager (14375)

The Role:

Holland & Barrett (H&B) have an ambitious strategy to launch a series of new wellness journeys to offer products, therapeutic and consultation services to customers. This is an exciting time for H&B and the role of Project Manager is crucial in ensuring we deliver to our roadmap and plans.

Bringing experience of previous Project Manager roles within an Agile environment, you will manage the delivery activity associated with developing a leading class wellness offering to our customers. This will involve working with the Business, Tech and Product teams to ensure that progress remains on track against plans and roadmaps, managing specific project initiatives within the journeys proposition and delivery reporting to our Executives and wider business on Journeys delivery.

You must be well-versed in concepts surrounding project management, both agile and waterfall, in a retail driven and technology business and look forward to the challenge of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Accountabilities:

To achieve a high level of team performance and quality that provides exceptional business value to users, including:

  • Take the strategies and collaborate with the various functions that comprise the virtual team to understand sequencing, longest time deliverables and delivery options to achieve OKRs
  • Liaise with the team and establish best working methods to gain knowledge to deliver the above in an agile environment
  • Consolidate and make sense of multiple roadmaps and plans as well as identifying dependencies to depict the delivery landscape
  • Deliver elements of the strategy that  you will be solely responsible for and lead to successful completion
  • Monitor and report against identified KPIs associated with individual work packages.
  • Create and monitor launch/readiness plans with the Journeys squads prior to new journeys being made live
  • Support Product Managers to unblock and overcome challenges that may be impacting plans/deliverables
  • Ensure other business functions (e.g. Marketing, Content, Legal & Regs) and activities are coordinated with, and support, technical product delivery
  • Support the Transformation PMO Lead in maintaining a portfolio level view of activity across Journeys
  • Monitor Business, Tech and Product activity (through use of Jira, other online tools and in discussion with the various function leads) to understand status, interconnected risks and suggest resolutions
  • Identify and monitor dependencies between squads and other business functions, recommending actions and working with stakeholders to actively manage these
  • Monitor agreed budgets, ensure project spend is in line with budget and has been through the necessary approvals
  • Hold stakeholders to account to agreed actions
  • Produce reporting against plans, risks and issues for governance meetings, including the Transformation Exec
  • Monitor and track resource schedules, including the need for informal or part-time input needed from the business
  • Work closely with Finance Business Partner to manage KPI measurement
  • Manage communications with a range of stakeholders from across the business
The Person:
  • Experienced (5 years+) Project Manager with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects
  • An understanding of working in an Agile environment is essential (Agile certification would be a positive)
  • Experience of digital transformation and creating customer experiences or processes online / in app
  • Good knowledge and handling of programme and project management methodologies and techniques
  • Strong technology understanding – able to understand the challenges of product and tech teams
  • Experience in a Retail or eCommerce environment helpful
  • Customer first mentality with a strong internal customer centric approach
  • Good analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Self-organised and attention to detail
  • Ability to influence with authority at appropriate levels along with good stakeholder collaboration with the ability to work with different types and levels of stakeholders from multiple business functions
  • Good MS Power-point, Word & Excel skills essential
