Content Manager - Health Hub and Copywriting (13909)

The Role

 At Holland & Barrett we're known for our expertise in health and wellness, and across the next five years we're going on a transformation to ensure that this becomes a core part of the customer journey at all levels as we aim to inspire people to make more proactive lifestyle choices.

Content will be a key part of this, and this role will be central in making sure that we show up for the customer in the right way on the Health Hub section of our website and other digital touchpoints – we'll be producing expert advice and guidance and then helping the rest of the business adapt that for their own needs.

You'll be an expert with words and have a good track record of managing and growing blogs or article-based websites.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the Health Hub section of our website: you'll be responsible for making sure that the written content in there is aligned to our wider content strategy and marketing campaigns, as well as maintaining user growth and visits across the year
  • Be the lead point of contact for our Product and Tech teams with the Health Hub in mind
  • You'll be creating joint plans for technical improvements which either give users a better experience or are optimising the Health Hub for Google visibility and rankings
  • Brief and support your team on content creation, help develop our copywriters' skills and build progression plans for our content executives
  • Act as the focal point for supporting the business's monthly marketing campaigns. You'll be taking insight and briefing information from our Campaigns Team as part of a working group and making sure that work is delivered on time and to high quality
  • Be a partner for our SEO team and proactively brief them for search insights which will inform the kinds of articles the team are writing, the keywords we want to target and any technical insights which could be implemented to improve how we rank in search engines
  • Lead creatively and bring ideas around how we can make sure our article content is as rich as it can be: what kinds of supporting video could be embedded, any designed graphics or infographics, GIFs etc.
  • Continually monitor and report on the Health Hub's performance using Google Analytics and associated tools: measuring new and repeat visitors, how many pages they visit, whether they go on to shop with Holland & Barrett etc.
  • Proactively seek out opportunities for providing Health Hub expertise to the wider business and customer journey – explore how we might integrate into retail experience, colleague training, internal comms, digital merchandising or helping transform the content sections of the H&B app

Experience & Skills Required:

You'll have a competent writing background, having produced written work in different audience-facing formats (long-form articles and blogs but also knowledgeable on short mobile formats etc). In addition, you will have managed a team before, preferably with experience in making sure copywriters are briefed effectively for different writing requirements.

  • A good understanding of online reporting processes: confident in Google Analytics and able to interpret search insights
  • Understanding of content management systems: up to speed on CMS processes / requirements, eventually able to train team members on CMS usage
  • Strong collaboration experience and mindset with the ability to understand wider stakeholder challenges and create solutions for those within your remit
