Master Data Project Manager (14300)

The Role:

The Master Data function collects and maintains accurate product and supplier data from external and internal functions, so that it is available to support business processes throughout the typical retail lifecycle of a product i.e., Plan, Buy, Move, Sell, Exit.  This includes management of the supplier and product set up processes.

The purpose of the Master Data Project Manager is to support the Master Data team to improve current processes and oversee more complex data collection / data cleansing projects (current & new), allowing the rest of the team to focus on data collection and responding to day-to-day queries. This role will co-ordinate multiple areas of the business to deliver the required outcomes. This role will also support the Master Data Manager to deliver some elements of the Transformation roadmap which are relevant to the Master Data function.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Apply your understanding of retail processes and data flows to propose the right approach for each project
  • Create and manage project activity plans to ensure projects are delivered to required timelines & quality standards
  • Manage key stakeholders across the business to ensure they understand the part they need to play and ensure this is delivered as required.
  • Use available data sets to identify inconsistencies, propose and take corrective action, generate quick wins & deliver commercial benefit
  • Use relevant data to support on-going business processes e.g., product set up and range reviews
  • Drive projects within the function which rely upon and require the use of accurate data
The Person:

You will have strong experience of the product set up process and the importance of product data quality throughout the end-to-end retail lifecycle along with a background of successfully managing and delivering projects to improve processes within a retail or supply chain environment.  In addition to this you will be used to delivering change and will have the ability to work with people from multiple business areas to deliver the required outcome.

 Skills Required:

  • Exhibit great stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and motivate a cross functional team to deliver the required outcomes
  • Ability to successfully prioritise and reprioritise workload of self & others in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective and engaging written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Successful management and delivery of projects to improve processes within a retail or supply chain environment
  • Analytical, with the ability to support the business by pulling key supplier/SKU level information together in an understandable format
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with a flexible approach to workload, with the ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines at any one time
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and communications
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • All aspects of Microsoft, in particular – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
