The Role

The Technical Services team is responsible for maintaining quality, integrity and legality  of all Holland & Barrett International's Foods & Food Supplements.

Reporting to the Quality Systems Officer, a vacancy has become available within the team to become a Quality Assurance Auditor. 

As a Quality Assurance Auditor, it's your job to compile, review and amend documents forming part of the Company's Quality Management System and food safety plan. You will conduct internal system, process, GMP and traceability audits, and raise, review and administer non-conformance notices. You will generate documents for product withdrawals and recalls, and work as part of team in complaints investigation and in compiling root case analysis and corrective \ preventive action reports. 

You will also have an opportunity to work part of wider technical team on exciting compliance projects.

The role will require you to be able to support production, working at rotational shift patterns according to business needs.

Main responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Contribute towards building a culture which drives Food Safety, legality and Quality
  • Help drive site towards a continual state of ‘audit readiness'.
  • Compile, review and amend documents forming part of the Company's Quality Management System and food safety plan, like procedures and work instructions and training aids
  • Audit the operations compliance with GMP standards
  • Conduct audits of internal systems and processes
  • HACCP Verification
  • Glass and brittle material audits
  • Raise, review and administer non-conformance notices and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Preparation of periodic reports relating to quality.
  • Monitor and promote compliance to current standards employed on site, including Soil Association, BRC, Kosher, Halal
  • Assist in the identification and management of non-conforming stock, placing on hold as appropriate
  • Generate, seek approval of and distribute documents for product withdrawals and recalls and conduct mass balance and traceability and mock recall exercises
  • Manage individual project assignments associated to the role
The Person


  • Experience in vitamin, food supplement or food manufacturing 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • People and team working skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Numeracy and problem-solving skills
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Understand requirements of BRC Global Standard for Food safety
  • HACCP – level 3 desirable
  • Food Hygiene requirements – a level 3 qualification is desirable
  • Auditing experience - desirable
  • Understanding of pest control requirements
