 Associates work closely within the wider Business and Science team to develop H&B's global strategy on a macro and micro scale, ensuring it is achievable and aligned with business growth aspirations and market potential.

The Role

 You will business partner closely with other functions to support them with additional strategic tasks and challenges.

  • Market scanning, benchmarking and other external best practice research and analysis
  • Supporting with the written production of key strategy papers and the final written strategies
  • Being proactive with assessing market trends, competitors and identifying threats and opportunities
  • Supporting the preparation and running of cross-business workshops
  • Collating, monitoring and reporting on KPIs that measure the success of the execution of the strategy across the organisation
  • Business partnering with H&B's other functions to provide ad-hoc strategic support when required
  • Working directly with colleagues in other functions to help prepare and document functional strategies aligned to the overarching H&B objectives
  • Strategic opportunity identification & sizing
  • Primary and secondary research conducted in identifying and assessing new potential markets, opportunities, services and product areas for H&B to explore
  • Autonomy to run workstreams supporting strategy development
  • Providing input and advice to Strategic Finance with the development and assessment of investment cases
  • Management and support of external strategy partners
  • Briefing and supporting external strategy consultancy firms on behalf of H&B, to ensure work conducted is of value and supports the business
  • Tracking, monitoring and managing external partners' delivery


About you

  • Graduate Consultant with at least 2-4 years' experience with a top global consultancy (This could be first step into an in-house strategy role from consulting or you may already be in an in-house role.)
  • Breadth and reasonable depth of understanding in at least one of: retail; e-commerce; digital health; health & wellness sector
  • Experience supporting strategy design and ongoing development
  • Experience of strategic change with a genuine desire to improve business performance
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, adept at managing a wide range of stakeholders with a wide range of understanding of business strategy
  • Self-starter with the ability to autonomously own and run workstreams
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written in English to facilitate, influence, challenge and engage stakeholders
  • Natural commercial acumen
